How do I choose between FCL and LCL?
Consider weight, packaging, stackability, shipment batches and delivery needs as well as volume. Origin and destination charge structures can differ, so compare the full transport cost and handover arrangements.
Is the ocean freight charge the total cost?
Other items may include trucking, warehousing, declarations, port handling, destination clearance and delivery. Clarify the conditions for detention, demurrage, storage or inspections instead of comparing the main freight charge alone.
What if equipment does not fit a standard container?
Provide drawings or photos, maximum dimensions, weight, centre of gravity and lifting points. Special-container or breakbulk options can then be assessed against actual handling and transport conditions.
