ATA Carnet assistance
An ATA Carnet may support temporary import and export of eligible goods, commonly for exhibitions, commercial samples or professional equipment. Suitability depends on the destination, intended use and re-export plan; it is not a general customs document for goods being sold.

Can consumables or goods intended for sale use an ATA Carnet?
It is generally unsuitable for goods that will be consumed, sold or given away and will not be re-exported as required. Declare exhibition consumables, promotional gifts and sale items separately so alternative arrangements can be checked.
Does carnet validity determine how long goods may stay abroad?
Not by itself. Destination customs may set a specific re-export deadline. Both carnet validity and the relevant customs requirements must be met, with arrangements made for the applicable earlier deadline.
What if the itinerary changes or goods are not re-exported on time?
Raise the change promptly and check the required action with the issuing organisation and relevant customs authority. A carnet does not automatically resolve extensions, conversion to a permanent import or missing procedures; taxes and other liabilities may arise.
